Seniors on the go

District One Seniors traveled to Gulf Shores to visit the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, also proudly known as “The Little Zoo That Could”. On Thursday, June 6th 2009 a group of 18 seniors ventured out on the trip. “It was fantastic, The zoo had beautiful animals and we all had a lot of fun”, commented Elmartina Saucier. The group stopped off for lunch at Doc’s Seafood Shack and Oyster Bar in Orange Grove, AL and Rebecca Devitt said, “The food was super!”. To complete the already full day the group stopped in at Burris Farm Market in Loxley, AL where Gisela Johnson picked up an apple crumble pie for the road. This is just one of the many ways District One Seniors are staying active and living up those retirement years.
